Here is one of my 2007 Wood County Fair entries. My daughter is the figure on the left in this painting titled, "Parade Watchers --Inside Looking Out". They are warm & cozy inside this craft / variety store. Outside it is freezing COLD, so they're quite contentedly looking through the window at a Christmas Parade going by.

This painting is from Side Cut Park in Maumee, Ohio. It's such an inspiring historic site. These are actual lock remnants of the old Erie Canal.

This was at a Lake Erie beach in Ontario, Canada. It was a warm, lazy afternoon toward the end of the summer tourist season. I wanted to capture that laid-back, unhurried atmosphere .

If you are familiar with age-group swimming, then you know the excitement of summer league championships! These girls are setting up tents for resting between races. (not for camping). I thought the juxtaposition of subjects was interesting--swimmers with tents next to... a beautiful golf course?

This was inspired by a family vacation to Panama City Beach, FL. The afternoon sun is scorching hot outside the window. Inside, the young vacationer cools off in the a/c and writes postcards to friends back home.

When it was built decades ago, this airport building was intended to be just a temporary structure! Last summer, a weekend "open house" event attracted many visitors, and this old building was at the hub of the activities. The ambience was so pleasant that it struck me--"I should paint this!" So I did.

I liked how this little girl looked confident, athletic, and strong-- yet feminine. (It's not one of those "cutesy" kid paintings.) The composition was interesting to me. The cylindrical shapes of her arms and legs are similar to the shapes in the playground equipment. This painting might look nice in a pediatrician's office or a day care center
